Participation benefits

Why should my hospital participate?

By participating in the Global Hospital Rating, your hospital will be rated across five quality dimensions: care, patient experience, safety, IT, and employer attractiveness and will receive an overall star rating of 1-5 stars as well as 1-5 stars for each rated category. Thus, your hospital’s strengths and areas of improvement will be identified within each category, signaling the quality criteria your hospital meets to patients and potential talent. The Global Hospital Rating is valid for a period of 2 to 3 years and can be renewed by future evaluations.

Understand the difference

How the Hospital Rating differs from rankings

Please note: The Global Hospital Rating does not influence the World’s Best Hospitals Ranking position.

Global Hospital Rating

Recognizes general hospitals around the globe via a rating system.

To participate in the Global Hospital Rating, hospitals can apply for evaluation here.

To receive a rating, the hospital submits data via a survey that consists of five categories relevant to the provision of healthcare services and attractiveness as an employer.

The rating is valid for a period of 2-3 years with yearly checkpoints along the way.

The rating can be renewed by future evaluations.

World’s Best Hospital Ranking

Top Hospitals ranked in 30 countries

To be included in World’s Best Hospitals, registration is not necessary.

The ranking is a comparison between top hospitals in each country. It is based on recommendations from medical professionals, publicly available hospital quality metrics, patient satisfaction data, and a voluntary Patient Reported Outcome Measures implementation survey.

Hospitals can sign up to receive the invitation to the voluntary Patient Record Outcome Measures implementation survey here.

A scoring model is used to calculate the overall hospital score, which determines the rank of the hospital receiving the award.
