Global Hospital Rating
Recognizing hospital excellence
Introduction
The Global Hospital Rating approach
Statista and Newsweek present the Global Hospital Rating, a comprehensive benchmarking system assessing hospitals across five key quality dimensions: care provision and timeliness, patient experience and safety, IT and healthcare technology, and employer attractiveness.
Hospitals submit data through a detailed survey, which undergoes thorough evaluation and validation by the Statista team. Eligible hospitals receive a rating from 1 to 5 stars.
All rated hospitals are featured here and on Newsweek.com.

Rating dimensions
Pre-defined rating criterias
The Global hospital rating is based on a comprehensive survey of hospitals. The submitted data is evaluated on pre-defined criteria in five categories.
Provision of care
Hospitals are surveyed on staffing levels, coverage, and the availability of medical specialties, as well as the diagnoses treated in the hospital.
Timeliness of care
Data on waiting times for elective surgeries and emergency room visits, as well as the occurrence of delays and rescheduling is reported by the hospital.
Patient experience and safety
Data on medical guidance, the implementation of Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMS), hygiene and infection prevention efforts, and patient services is submitted by hospitals.
IT and healthcare technology
Hospitals are surveyed on electronically available patient data, data protection practices, and the use of medical technology.
Employer attractiveness
Details on the hospital's company policies, staff training programs, and work environment are provided.
