Project Details
About the project
The first edition of the UK’s Fastest-Growing Companies ranking features 150 companies spanning 23 industries that achieved exceptionally high revenue growth between 2022 and 2025.
Using company databases and other publicly available sources, our team of analysts identified thousands of UK-based companies as potential candidates. These companies were invited to apply for the ranking through a form on our website and submit their revenue figures, enabling us to assess their growth accurately. For each eligible company, we calculated the compound annual growth rate (CAGR).
To qualify for the ranking, companies had to be independent, headquartered in England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland, and generate primarily organic revenue of at least £100,000 in 2022 and £1.5 million in 2025. At least 50% of revenue had to be organic. Companies could apply using the financial years that occurred mostly within the 2022 and 2025 calendar years, respectively.
Published online and as a supplement to the print edition of the Financial Times, the high-profile ranking provides public recognition for some of the UK’s fastest-growing businesses.
HOW WE CALCULATE CAGR
Calculation of growth rates
Company growth rates were calculated using the revenue figures submitted by participating companies. To ensure comparability across the ranking, all revenue figures were converted into British pounds using the average annual exchange rate for the relevant financial year.
The compound annual growth rate (CAGR) was calculated using the following formula, where the three-year period reflects the interval between 2022 and 2025.

METHODOLOGY
How we work
Learn about our general approach to creating rankings for fastest growing companies. Further details about how the ranking was created can be found in the UK's Fastest Growing Companies 2027 methodology.
01 Concept
The Fastest Growing Companies project ranks businesses based on their revenue growth percentage over three years, focusing on organic growth. The rankings include companies that meet set criteria like revenue thresholds, independence and financial performance.
02 Data Collection
For data collection, we create online application forms that eligible companies can use to register and submit financial and business information. Additionally, our analysts identify potential candidates for the rankings through research in company databases and other public sources, inviting them to apply for the ranking via mail, email or phone.
03 Evaluation
In order to evaluate candidates, revenue figures are verified by company management, with additional checks for small or unincorporated companies. Revenue growth rates are then calculated using the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) based on the companies’ reported figures. For better comparability, all revenues are standardized to a single currency.
04 Quality Assurance
Our team of analysts rigorously checks and verifies submissions, researches missing data in public and proprietary sources, and excludes companies that do not meet the eligibility criteria. A minimum growth rate is required for inclusion in each ranking.
Partnership
